This young Doctor, that has been seeing Shaggy lately, Dr. Godfree, she's a young woman, and she has an amazing way with animals as well.
Upon meeting her for the first time, she came in the room and sat on the floor immediately. I thought, "what the heck is she doing?" ...
She sat down, to get on Shaggy's level, so he wasn't afraid of her, and as she spoke to me, asking me questions about him, she held her one hand out, until he came to her and began licking her hand. Then she stood up and he was fine with her, putting him on the table, so she could examine him.
I liked that in her .. she's been good with him .. and me, on the phone and very co-operative with Shaggy's mommy also.
The vet phoned again to tell me they are keeping Minnie for another night, as they have not yet gotten to the root of what's the matter with her, i.e. what is causing the bleeding into both her eyes, causing her to become blind. He assures me she is in much better form since he has been giving her some steroids. So I'm to phone back again tomorrow, for further news.
Thank you, all! I've just been on the phone to the vet. He still has Minnie, and assures me she is in much better frame of mind today. Sounds like her old self. They still cannot figure out what is causing the bleeding into her eyes. tom is consulting with two specialist friends of his later today, someone who is doing a doctorate in Ophthalmic Science, in Cats and someone else, who is a prodigious specialist, to see if they can offer any opinions. So, Minnie is getting the best of treatment. They really are very good. I have to phone back in another few hours to see what's next.
