Every Christmas we give a crate of Lager to the dustbin men and another to the re-cycling crew. Just as a thank you for a job well done. I think perhaps it's a 'Northern' thing because none of our neighbours seem to give them anything.

Our reward is not only seeing the happy smiles but also getting good service for the next year too.

I don't buy any in latter years, if I can avoid it. I do give something to the postman, and there are one or two ladies that come begging to the door. They"expect" something for Christmas - so I give them something.
