Sharon Osbourne has revealed she’s had a double mastectomy after discovering she carries a gene that significantly boosts the risk of breast cancer.
I am very saddened to hear that Sharon has had to go through this. IMO, she is in complete denial of the underlying grief she is suffering due to this loss - no matter what she says. Everyone has their own way of dealing with things - and obviously that is hers. My heart goes out her.
The other girl mentioned above who is planning this op (double mastectomy) because of the same gene - before Christmas, is Michelle Heaton. She is English, married and living in ireland. She came on our Late Late show just over a week ago and announced it on the show. Poor thing! She totally broke down and sobbed uncontrollably. She had the same to say - that the decision was a no-brainer, as she had a new baby and there is an 80% chance she would contract a very aggressive form of cancer, if she did not has the op. Very tough decisions to have to make.
