A photograph can give many impressions, depending on the angle from which it is taken, and what it focuses on. Here my garden looks amazing in the mid-morning sun, viewed from my kitchen window. That's just one corner! ;D
You can see my herb bed in the foreground and to the left the seat where I like to sit admiring it. the birdbath in the center of my herb bed, used to be a solar powered water feature, which gave me endless pleasure, but now it is used by birds to drink from and bathe in. Sometimes cats jump up on it to have drink, as well.
The plant stand actually is a Zimmer (walking) frame, which I found discarded in a skip ("dumpster", as you Americans would say!) I retrieved that during the night, as I had known the woman, to whom it had belonged. She, at that time had gone into a nursing home and they were clearing out her house. She is now passed on. RIP! Her memory lives on my garden!
Behind the planter, you can see my trachcarpus palm, which probably is the only palm that grows happily in this climate. I like that it gives a bit of a tropical look and feel to the garden. Also beside it, with the unmistakably large leaves, is my fig tree, which gives me a crop of figs each year. It's called "Brown Turkey" fig, and again is the only fig, that I know of, that grows happily in this climate - and bears fruit! I used to have a banana tree there, but it was far too much trouble to protect in the winter, and was eventually killed by the wet and frost. I don't have to do anything to protect the palm and the fig - my kind of plants!
