I still like to wash my greens separately. I grow my own and they do come in dirty out of the garden. Who knows, a snail could have been crawling all over the leves that night, leaving a slimy track. Also when watering my lettuces the water splashes up some soil to make them gritty. What I do is collect the leaves in a large bowl. Put in a handful of cheap table salt. Fill the bowl with water and swash around the leaves until all the dirt has dropped to the bottom of the bowl. If any snail slime, the salt will dissolve it. Emty out the dirty water and rinse again, if I feel it's necessary. After that I put the leaves in the spinner and spin dry. Still doing it the "wrong way"! LOL!
