Prime Minister David Cameron won a stunning election victory in Britain, overturning poll predictions that the vote would be the closest in decades to sweep easily into office for another five years, with his Labour opponents in tatters.
What was all this about it going to be neck and neck between candidates? I heard them on the morning radio news trying to find alternative phrases for "neck and neck" - so overused it was becoming in their reports.
On a personal level, I don't think this is good news for Scotland or British involvement with the EU.
