Minnie - even though she's blind, loves to take a walk out in the garden, weather permitting. She had been an indoor cat all of her life when I adopted her.

That's my personal choice though.

I agree, Whisker. Keeping your pet happy is important.

I've always felt cats should be governed by the same rules dogs are, and that's not allow them to run free away from their property. Responsible pet owners know where their pets are at all times, mainly for the safety and well being of their pet. Cats learn to walk off the property on a leash just like a dog does.

Yes, Falcon! I don't agree with letting cats out at night to roam wherever they like, as they are predators and kill a lot of young birds. My niece is a vet and she and her partner have trained their cat to walk on a leash. They take him with them on walks up the mountains! LOL!

As for Minnie, she is lucky that my garden is contained by four walls, so she can walk freely there, in complete safety, which she really enjoys. Since she has gone blind, she no longer climbs up walls etc, but she is able to jump up onto the garden seat. LOL!

Coyotes love to eat them.

The nearest thing would be foxes - but I don't think foxes attack cats. Dogs like to chase them! LOL!

The only time a fox would attack a cat is if it needed to defend their young.

There are a lot of wild cats around here, coming through the property periodically, and I feed three of them as they looked skinny at the beginning of winter and I didn't want them starving. There are a couple of toms who are fat, and who try to terrorize these three and steal their food, but my Scottish Terrier keeps them at bay. She would never hurt one, but the cats don't know that.

Most time they just kill the bird without eating it. Annoying.
