(Reuters) — Gunmen and bombers attacked restaurants, a concert hall and a sports stadium at locations across Paris on Friday, killing at least 120 people in what a shaken President Francois Hollande called an unprecedented terrorist attack.
World monuments light up in solidarity with France, except in Dubai
DUBAI, UAE - Following the Paris terror attacks Saturday in which 129 people were killed and 352 wounded by gunmen linked to ISIS, national landmarks across the world have been lit up in the French colours, with Dubai a noticeable exception.
It seems that Brussels, France's neighbour is now on extremely high alert, based on intelligence they have. My nephew, his wife and two children live in Brussels. I'm thinking of them, wondering has this alert has affected them in any way. I also have a niece married to a Frenchman, who is living in the North East of France, right near the German border. They are of concern to me too. As one woman said on the TV today, "Nowhere is safe anymore!"
